Nurse-Led Support Program Aims to Help Families of Kids with Cancer
A new study seeks to reduce stress in families dealing with pediatric cancer in China.
Children with cancer and their families often experience strong stress reactions. To help, researchers in China are testing a new program called SCCIP-N, led by nurses. This initiative is focused on reducing these stress symptoms for 110 families across two regions. Families will be split into two groups: one receiving the nurse-led support and the other receiving standard care. The effectiveness of this program will be measured over eight weeks, looking at different aspects like anxiety, quality of life, and even using wearable devices to track health data.
This goal is to find a way to improve family well-being without needing a mental health specialist for every family. The trial began recruiting participants in December 2025 and is expected to be completed by December 2026.
